Movement and Voice
In this workshop, we explore the connection between voice and dance and embark on poetic dances with our own body. With the help of a compositional tools as well as dance and voice improvisation, participants are invited to explore for themselves: How can sound inspire and support dance expression? How can dance and text exist as equals or contrasts? What parameters in space, time and power allow us to experiment creatively with voice and movement? The focus is on authentic expression and the relationship between voice and movement, which allows for a holistic dance experience. No prior experience in dance or voice work necessary.
This offer is part of the impulse Monday workshops, where dance enthusiasts can always get into different styles.
January 16, 23 & 30 from 19.30 to 21h
Miriam Markl has been working as a freelance dancer and choreographer in Mannheim since 2017. One of her major interests is to inspire people for performance art who otherwise have little contact with it. In doing so, she explores the interface between everyday life and art. She has shown pieces in Germany, Italy, Switzerland, in theaters, on the street and at parties. She has danced for many freelance choreographers and several times as a guest dancer at the Stuttgart State Opera.
