The winter residencies allow artists to use the large space at EinTanzHaus. In January, two choreographers, Sade Mamedova and Shaked Dagan, will stay with us. At the residency presentation they invite us to participate in this time and will share very different impressions with us.
Sade Mamedova: The Power of Now
Under the title The Power of Now, choreographer and dancer Sade Mamedova focuses on the body, feelings and thoughts and the question: What exactly happens in the present of a moment? With her are musician Claus Boesser-Ferrari and filmmaker Tadas Almantas.
Sade Mamedova is a performer, choreographer and teacher based in Mannheim. After gathering her education as a dancer in Moscow, she has been touring internationally with the Riverdance Company and in 2013 got her bachelor at HfMDK Frankfurt. From 2013 was a member at the Theatre Regensburg for three years and two years at the Lucerne Theatre. Since 2018 became a freelancer, who has received several awards as a dancer and choreographer at International Competitions and Festivals.
Shaked Dagan: With the Eyes of the others
Choreographer Shaked Dagan starts her residency with different ideas. The keywords for her research include: Looking at yourself through the eyes of others, relating through imitation, building acquaintance, intimacy, and empathy through observing details and embodying others. She focuses at mechanisms through which we practice understanding and misunderstandings, explore shared confusion, and find logic in nonsense. Dance artists Julie Pécard and Jonas Frey will join her during the reasearch week.
Shaked Dagan is a dance artist and researcher. She has been working internationally as a dancer, choreographer, and dance educator. She explores performative territories that pace along the disciplinary boundaries and experiments with different mediums and practices. In her current Master's in Curating (Aarhus University DK), she researches the curatorial crossing between choreography, contemporary dance, and collaborative constellations.
