Who are you?
My name is Alberto and I come from Italy. I was born in a small town called Asti in the northwest, a place surrounded by beautiful hilly landscapes and vineyards.
What do you do?
I am lucky to practice dancing as profession. I exercise, perform, reflect, study and teach dance.Was lerne ich im Kurs? //What will I learn in your Workshop?I wish to create a space where we can experience together our body as a conversation tool.How do we exchange information with others through movement? What can dance teach us about engaging in conversation? I come from Hip Hop dance. So I love to use music, musicality and interactive exchange as parameters to explore ways of entering into conversational dynamics with both ourselves and each other.
What should I bring?
Comfortable warm clothes and your curiosity to movement!
What else should I know?
Part of the workshop will be dedicated to interaction exercises to explore conversational dynamics both through touch and at a distance.
Alberto Cissello is a dancer, teacher and dance maker currently living in Vienna. His interest towards movement is triggered by notions such as musicality, relation and interaction, concepts accompanying his most recent activities. Alberto holds a MA in "Movement Research" obtained at the Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz, Austria.At present, he regularly collaborates with Austrian choreographer Helene Weinzierl, touring her pieces nationally and internationally. Since 2009, Alberto has been working as a performer for several dance companies such as EgriBianco Danza, Oper Graz Tanzkompanie and Norrdans. Among his most recent contribution as a dance performer: F e m e n i n e by Eva-Maria Schaller(impulsTanz, 2022) and Passage - rehearsal for birthing and dying by Daphna Horenczyk (WUK,2023). In 2019, he co-initiated, together with Martina De Domincis, debocs.com, an ongoing documentation project related to their choreographic research as a duo. Together, they createdyet to be born, touring the piece in Germany, Croatia, Italy and Austria. As a dance teacher, Alberto has held workshops for different venues and festivals such as Tanzquartier Wien, MUK,Internationale Bühnenwerkstatt, Divadlo Štúdio Tanca Festival, Festival Spectrum, tanzimpulse Salzburg, Universidad Nacional de Heredia, and Play Practice Artistic Residency Bangalore.
