What underlies the descriptions and scene instructions in the plays? In this research-based performance, performers enact and intervene series of selected instructions from the Iranian plays to practically investigate the desired movements, tasks, and labors embedded in the texts as scores for women.
Starting from a play as a cultural text, the Ongoing Archive for Endless Performances reread the plays written in different eras to form an archive of women's bodily narratives, physical activities, manners, and gestures. The "posed actions" that subsequently unfold the "deprived actions"; the acts that have been withheld from women's corporeal presence, their agency, mobility and visibility not only in theater space but also in a broader sociocultural context.
