For some it is a cultural asset, for others it is a dilapidated remnant of post-war history. For buildings, rooms, and sculptures from the period of reconstruction reconstruction after the Second World War, only one thing is desired by the city's public and politicians and politics: demolition. But how should we in Mannheim deal with post-war architectural history? What is the architectural value of this era and how can it be conveyed?

What redevelopment and re-use concepts already exist? Where are Where are civil society actors in Mannheim already involved today and what are their demands? We will explore these questions with a lecture, two impulses from the field, and an open discussion with experts.
