Unpolished Wednesdays is a format that takes place every first Wednesday of every month in the studio of EinTanzHaus with the goal of bringing audience and artists closer to one another. The format changes depending on who participates, but it always includes interaction with the audience through small showings, workshops and other activities.
Dec 6th // 19:00 // with Lorenzo Ponteprimo
Dancer & choreographer Lorenzo Ponteprimo is using the next edition of Unpolished Wednesdays to play with and test his skills in acting. The basis for this are ideas for a solo show he is currently working on. He will simply try out initial ideas and characters in this format to see how the audience reacts to them.
For Lorenzo Ponteprimo, the work on the new piece begins with himself: In the current research phase, he is taking inspiration from parts of his personality. To do this, he looks at aspects of his character and behavior, isolates them from the rest and uses them to build characters and scenes. They are based on the question of how the characters would interact with themselves and their environment and how these states remain comprehensible to the audience.
Unpolished Wednesdays introduces you to three of these characters: the Mask, the Fool and the Wannabe*. The Mask is portrayed as the host of a late-night show called Lori Bridge. The Fool is the guest named Andy Villaggio. Loroenzo Ponteprimo plays all the characters, and the first two in particular will talk to each other during the show. After their dialog, the wannabe (he doesn't have his own name at the moment) will come out and deal with his insecurities and inadequacies. The idea is to work on a dramaturgy in which the characters, states, journeys and reflections all come from one personality: The audience thus experiences an inner creative journey that is as entertaining as it is impressive.
As a further part of the evening, the Nostos Tanztheater will present the urban dance project Urban Dance Academy/ Urban Bodies in film, dance and discussion and will dance and discuss the term "community" with the audience.

FLUX is a newly founded dance and performance arts association composed of members of the independent dance and performance arts community in the Rhine-Neckar region. It welcomes professional artists with different movement practices and backgrounds, different age groups and professional experiences. Former members of the National Theater Mannheim, the Stadttheater Heidelberg, established local choreographers, internationally recognized choreographers, young talented dancers just starting their careers, as well as artists working in various crossover fields such as performance art, and actors are among them. Like the Neckar River that connects the two cities of MA and HD, FLUX flows through and connects different spaces of artistic practice and thought, mobilizing the creative current that circulates between us.
