Somatics on the dance floor

The class will be a smooth start into the day. The focus will be put on the sense of the self, regarding the moving body. By looking for a sense of effort economy, it will be about bringing ease into the movements, when circulating between ground and space. It will imply to work with gravity, body dynamics and tonicity modulations. The class will be an invitation to explore movement and body, sometimes through structured movement patterns, but mainly through guided improvisations in silence or in music.

Frédéric De Carlo

 

Frédéric De Carlo studied contemporary dance at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris and is a certified dance teacher. He has worked as performer and choreographer in different constellations, mainly between France and Germany. His projects focus on gender issues, representations and body practices. He currently lives and works in Frankfurt and he's part of the leading team of ID_Frankfurt, association founded to improve artists' working conditions.

 

How to join

---> Class for professional dancers.

---> Please buy your ticket in advance to join.

---> Normal price tickets are 7 EUR / tickets for ten are 5 EUR.

---> Participation vaccinated, tested or recovered. Please bring a corresponding proof. (Tests must not be older than 24 hours. An overview of the test stations in Mannheim can be found HERE.)

---> Please enter the house with medical mask. During the training, the legal distance regulations must be followed.
